Unemployment claims can be filed on https://www.edd.ca.gov/unemployment/, forms are only available in English and Spanish. In the last month there have been over 1 million new claims. The recent Coronavirus Response Bill passed by Congress increases unemployment insurance amounts, also allows independent contractors and sole proprietors (1099’s) who have lost work or seen a major reduction in hours to apply.
