Over a century ago, a who’s-who of prominent Oakland citizens met in San Francisco’s St. Francis Hotel to found what would become one of the most beautiful and challenging private golf clubs in Northern California, the Sequoyah Country Club.
The first clubhouse, designed by architect Edward G. Garden, was completed in 1915, and by the 1930s, Sequoyah Country Club was a hub of elegance and sophistication as it became a regular destination for social functions. Sequoyah Country Club even hosted premier tournaments featuring the biggest names of the day like Ben Hogan, Sam Snead, Jimmy Demaret and Byron Nelson.
Come see for yourself why, for over a century, Sequoyah Country Club has been home to the gorgeous vistas on one of the most challenging golf courses in America.
