PROJECT:

With support from the amazing HIV care team, I had the opportunity to be able to help carry out their project to assess the impact of trauma-informed care at AHS for patients living with HIV (PLWHIV). Through this project, I was able to learn from PLWHIV who shared their stories and experiences of their care here at AHS. These conversations provided valuable insight into how we can continue to promote a safe and empowering space for patients to engage in their care through a trauma-informed approach.

WHY REACH?

An invaluable learning experience with support from inspiring mentors! REACH taught me about the many aspects of a culturally responsive community health center and being able to listen to stories from our community members empowers me to continue pursuing my passion in health care.
