Tervina joined the Board of Directors at Asian Health Services (AHS) in 2014 after 40 years working in medical field as a hospice volunteer, medical assistant, charge nurse and university educator. She is passionate about serving her community, consumer welfare and advocating for patients. Her drive to ensure proper health education that patients can understand, follow and implement into their daily lives has led her to be part of the Patient and Consumer Board Committee within AHS. Tervina specializes in educating patients within the Asian community about advanced care planning directive and holds workshops in collaboration with the East Bay Conversation Project Alameda County Chapter.
