Cynthia Sugimura, Senior Dental Manager, is recognized for her leadership at AHS and her dedication as a mother with The Mildred Parish Massey Legacy Award, named in honor of Representative Barbara Lee’s mother.

Sugimura came to Asian Health right before the pandemic began. She was thrown into the most uncertain and challenging times of our lives. As a single mother of a 12-year-old son, Cynthia has worked very hard to keep her son safe, helped him through the last 2 years of distant learning and managed to keep him emotionally and mentally healthy. At the same time, she helped the dental staff with their own morale and struggles through the pandemic and kept the dental operations going successfully. She was instrumental with one of the best innovative projects, digitizing the patient intakes, helped the dental to go GREEN by eliminating virtually the need for paper histories and consents.  Cynthia undoubtedly deserves the Mother’s Day recognition.
