AHS, Oakland Chinatown Chamber, Oakland Chinatown Coalition and the Oakland Chinatown Improvement Council recently held a Virtual Candidates Meet & Greet for Alameda County District 3. There are four candidates (David Kakishiba, Lena Tam, Rebecca Kaplan and Serene Grant) who are currently running in the Primary Election on June 7th, of which two of them will likely be in a runoff in November. This position is of critical importance to AHS given this position was formerly held by the Late & Honorable Wilma Chan, a strong champion for underserved health and immigrant rights.  Many thanks to Mike Lok, our Planning Manager who helped to coordinate this successful event attended by over 60 participants.

AHS also participated with La Clinica and Native American Health Center in an Alameda Health Consortium Candidates Forum on May 10th with the four candidates.  Questions focused on how candidates will support and advocate community health center priorities.  Julia moderated the panel on behalf of the three clinics.
