On-Call Dental Assistant (#541)

Position Summary:

Under direct supervision of the Registered Dental Assistant Supervisor, Dentist, or Chief Dental Officer performs all duties of a Dental Assistant including assistance to the dentist and dental hygienist during a variety of treatment procedures and other functions as legally allowed in the state of California.

Essential Functions:

1. Setting up.
2. Asking about or verifying when necessary a patient’s medical history and taking blood pressure and pulse.
3. Chairside assisting.
4. Provides routine post-operative instructions to patients.
5. Maintaining dental equipment.

Minimum Qualification:

Education:  Must have a high school diploma or have gone through a formal dental assisting training program.

Experience:  Minimum of one-year professional dental assisting work experience.

Certification, License, Registrations:  Valid CPR Card, Radiation and Safety Certificate issued by the Dental Board of California, Pass Infection Control and Radiation Safety examination.

Must be fluent in English and any Asian language: Vietnamese, Cantonese, Mandarin, or Korean strongly desired
