Project:
Worked with the Behavioral Health department to improve AHS’s response to patients who are survivors or victims of domestic violence by interviewing local shelters, collecting feedback from clinic staff, and analyzing and streamlining the clinic response protocol. Also worked with An Tran to understand high referral rejection/no-show rates in the AHS Behavioral Health department by conducting patient surveys.
“This is a fantastic opportunity to get a plethora of different perspectives on healthcare. You’re exposed to everything from primary care to insurance enrollment—something that’s rare to find in a medical college internship. Best of all, you’re able to see how advocacy can be integrated into medicine to truly improve the lives of patients.”
