Project:
Worked with a multidisciplinary team to carry out a Diabetes Education curriculum for group medical visits for Cambodian patients with poorly-controlled diabetes. Besides educating patients about diabetes medication, our team also worked on educating patients about self-management skills such as finding the right nutrition plan, exercising, and maintaining healthy mental health.
“Through REACH, I was able to look at primary care and health care field through a unique lens that focuses on patients advocacy. Not only did I get to learn about what clinical care looks like, I was also exposed to other fields and work that goes into a community health clinic. I highly recommend this program to anyone interested in learning more about what it means to be a true advocate for a community.”
