California AA&NHPI Health Equity Coalition
In 2022, Asian Health Services founded and established an Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander (AA & NHPI) statewide coalition with other lead organizations, including Asian Resources, Inc (ARI), Center for Asian Americans in Action, and Orange County Asian Pacific Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA).
The Coalition was formed to create and advocate for an actionable three-year statewide policy and research agenda for AAs & NHPIs in California focused on three health equity issues–data disaggregation, language access, and mental health–with participation from over 50 community-based organizations, researchers, and advocates. Key to the formation of the Coalition is its continued partnership with the California Commission on Asian & Pacific Islander American Affairs (CAPIAA).
