Director of Development and Communications (#560)

The Director of Development and Communications (DDC) is responsible for the design and successful implementation of strategies for cultivating major gifts, events, planned giving and capital campaigns to support Asian Health Services (AHS) clinical services and advocacy programs.  The DDC will oversee all aspects of individual giving including major gifts, planned giving and capital campaigns. The DDC will ensure that branding and messaging expressed in written communications and in multi-media including social and visual media aligns with the mission and goals of the agency.  The DDC will work closely with the Chief Deputy of Administration, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), the AHS Board of Directors (BOD) and the AHS Foundation in identifying, cultivating and stewarding major donors. The DDC will supervise the Corporate Gifts and Events Manager and oversee the Communications Associate related to fundraising and donor development.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

BA/BS and 5+ years in the areas of individual donor development, events and communications, including 3+ years of senior management responsibility for resource development, excellent analytical skills and demonstrated ability to meet revenue goals.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Health care background, preferably in advocacy and/or program development.
• Knowledge and experience in working in the Asian American community, especially in the East Bay.
• Bilingual/Bicultural in an Asian language/Culture.

Bilingual in  an Asian Language preferred
